AIÊ, in yorubá, is the name that defines the world of the Living. The multisensorial side of reality, where life becomes palpable, and sound waves fuse and diffuse together. It’s the world of the physical encounters, where we celebrate the presence and the magic of improvisation under the laws of impermanence of matter. In this vibration, Edgar Valente [pt] and Luiz Gabriel Lopes [br] gathered for a generous multicultural match. Complementary dramaticities, distinct faces of the same source, stitched by the various sounds of Lusophony in their mysterious alchemy. Music as a portal for contact with the spirit, and a major force for the invention of new worlds. From north Atlantic shores, Edgar multiplies himself in a body that unfolds in vast voices, and extends to his fingers on the keyboards or his hands in the adufe, or through movements that reach from the detonation of the new popular portuguese music, to the explosions with his funk and afrobeat bands. Coming from the south side of same ocean, Luiz Gabriel is a versatile brazilian artist who brings at his voice and his guitar strings the sunny rhythm of the tropics, latin american syncretism expressed in a deep and balsamic songwriting.
