Memories of a Tree
With this series Edgar intended to recreate the tree lines as a tribute to them. Harvesting wood in nature that is no longer alive, or reusing others that had different purposes in the past, I aim to immortalize these trees in a memory of natural paint on raw fabric.
All paintings are ready to hang with rope and pine wood frame treated naturally with the Japanese yakisugi technique and finished with linseed oil and beeswax for good preservation.
This project aims to awaken a more sustainable awareness in relation to the world around us, combining Art with a ecological thinking and practice.
In this context, the works present here, represent lines of force and movements inspired by universal patterns of Nature and their flows, creating bodies of energy in order to bring us closer to the vibrations of our being and what surrounds us.
This vision is created mostly from ecological and sustainable materials, not only because of the environmental issue, but also because we have stopped having contact with living matter, and consequently we are losing sensitivities that we have in ourselves as animals of this world.
Using such materials, they summon me to awaken a ecological sensitivity to the landscape around us. By painting and molding in a more sustainable way, I create organisms whose lines and patterns mimic traces of vital processes, in order to transmit this sensitivity to others.
